Life pain point
I took the day when I lived alone as the thread of story, then I chose two of these cases as the starting point to make the garment.The first is that when swimming, I found that it's very inconvenient for families to carry a large swimming ring.To solve the problems of the large size and easily sliding off when swimming, I designed a wearable swimming ring suit.
The second design is a suit for walking alone at night.Woman, in particular, are prone to some unknown danger.So I thought of designing something more terrifying then the "danger" which is called walking alone at night suit.
Design process
The wearable swimming ring suit is made of latex material which is elastic and inflatable.I did some research of how swimming ring is made and which part can they be connect to the swimming suit. I found a latex workshop to help me with the making. Each section are connected by a tube and it has one port to put air into it. It's very"suitable"for people who doesn't want to wear big swimming wings but can't swim.
About the walking alone at night suit, I explored some strange image feature that can cause people psychological discomfort. The final outfit includes a headwear resembles an upside-down head and a skirt with countless legs.I used cotton thread to simulate hanging hair, made some stockings stuffed with cotton to create the effect of countless legs.
